Do You Have A Good Genealogy Blog?

By Genealogy Advisor | Mar 30, 2009

Well I never! The world of Genealogy Blogging has been aghast at my suggestion that many Genealogy Blogs are poor sources of verified information to help you with your own research. I know from my own experience of researching my Duxbury Genealogy that there are some fanciful stories and marriages quoted on blogs which were not in the least bit plausible. Well that is assuming that the concept of time travel was not one of the hidden secrets of Lancashire in the 16th Century.

However, I do agree that there are some blogs which are excellent, albeit that they are greatly outnumbered by the poor and less than plausible.

So in the spirit of ensuring access to great genealogy information anyone who has a Good or Great Genealogy Blog is invited to let me know and we will feature them here. All I ask is that they give us a few words about their Blog and we will then add them to a new page of Great Genealogy Blogs! To submit them you can contact me through Twitter and we will exchange email addresses.

Well done for saying this. There are excellent blogs out there. I think, as with everything, check accuracy at all turns. With this in mind, all resources are relevant.
By the way, good way to drive traffic!! ;-)

Thank you for your original post that stirred up such a fuss, for the comment you wrote over at one of the blogs that responded, and for the effort you are making with this post.

Only one aspect of my blog is about my interest in Genealogy, but your piece, and the debate in general stirred me to spend the morning expressing my own views on the issue.
